JUNIOR RESEARCHERS IN FIDPEL
FiDPEL is financed by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture and the Academy of Finland. For the financing period of 2007-2011, FiDPEL received 27 salaried 3-5 years’ positions and 16 salaried 4 years’ positions for 2012-2013. Between August 22nd and October 7th, 2011, there's a call for applications for ten more positions for the period of 2012-2015 (see Call 2012-2015).
In practice the positions financed by the Ministry have been divided for the junior researchers in periods of one to four years. This has meant salary or reserve position for altogether 88 graduate students during the overlapping financing periods of 2007-2011 and 2010-2013.
In addition, FiDPEL has nearly one hundred status members who are funded by various sources or who work part-time. The subprogrammes of FiDPEL may also take new status members in the middle of the financing periods. In total FiDPEL embraces currently some 180 junior researchers.
On the menu on the left all the junior researchers of the four subprogrammes introduce themselves and the subject of their doctoral research. Many of them also wish to get new research contacts, so please be active if you find something interesting!
For the original selection decisions or the latest updates of status members, see the Finnish page. The full-time doctoral students as well as those on reserve and status positions of periods of 2010-2013 and 2007-2011 are listed there according to the subprogrammes.
The full-time members and the reserve members remain full members of FiDPEL for the whole period, regardless of the length of their actual personal financing period. If they don't complete their dissertation before the end of the period, they become status members until the dissertation. More information about the rights and responsibilities of junior researchers is to be found on the Studying menu on the left.
